Exercise your body and MIND by enjoying a stroll through Martha Songbird Nature Trail.

In the spirit of staying fit and healthy in both body and mind, Nye Library offers families a Story Walk ®. Parents and children are invited to walk a nature trail at Lake Elmer Thomas Recreation Area (LETRA) and read from book pages posted at intervals along the trail. Take a picnic, use the playgrounds, and enjoy the scenery while you're out and about.StoryWalk® is ideal for children in the 1st-3rd grade. You can get a prize for participating. 

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg Hubbard Library.

Cost

FREE and open to the military community.

Registration Information

Sign up at Nye Library or LETRA office from May 7-27, sign the waiver, get directions and instructions before heading out to the trail.
