Lawton • Fort Sill Freedom Fest 2026

Celebrate America’s 250th Birthday at the Lawton • Fort Sill Freedom Fest on June 27 from 5–10:30 PM at the Fort Sill Polo Field. This annual community celebration features live entertainment, family activities, food, shopping, and a spectacular fireworks and drone show. Gates open at 4 PM through Gate 2.

    Think you bake the best apple pie in Southwest Oklahoma? Enter the Apple Pie Bake‑Off and put your skills to the test.

    Bring apple pies to the Polo House rear door between 6 and 8 PM
    Judging begins after 8:30 PM
    Winner announced on the Main Stage after 9 PM

Parking will be at the Fort Sill Polo Club and will open at 3:30 p.m. Come in through Key Gate West.

Know Before You Go:

 

There will be road closures for Freedom Fest that will affect resident movement, especially for those living in Patriot Estates. Residents are also invited to attend the event. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Parking

  • General admission entry is at Gate 2 on Post Road. 

  • You do not need a visitor pass to enter and park in the Gate 2 parking area.

  • A valid photo ID is required. It does not need to be a Real ID; a state‑issued ID is sufficient for anyone 16 years of age or older.  

  • Gate 2 opens at 4 p.m. 

  • Directions to Gate 2:

    • From Lawton: Take I‑44 North to Exit 40B, then follow Rogers Lane West to Post Road.

    • From Chickasha or Elgin: Take I‑44 South to Exit 40C.

  • A valid State‑ or Federal‑issued ID is required for all attendees age 16 and older.

  • All vehicles are subject to random checks.

Handicapped Parking

  • Available for DoD ID card holders with a valid handicapped parking permit.

  • Handicapped guests without a DoD ID must obtain a visitor pass from the Visitor Welcome Center (T6701 Sheridan Road) before the event.

 

Health, Safety & Security Guidelines

• Personal belongings are subject to search at the event entry point. No backpacks.
• Small purses and bags no larger than 5” x 8 “ are allowed. Anything larger must be in a clear bag and no larger than 14” x 14” x 6”.

• Each member of a family, including children, will be able to carry an approved clear bag and a small purse.
• Cameras, tablets, and empty water bottles (to fill at our Water Buffalos for free) are permitted. Blankets are also allowed.
• Coolers and similar containers are NOT allowed. 
• Outside food and drink are NOT permitted inside the gates. Refreshments and food are available for purchase.
• Empty water bottles to fill onsite at our Water Buffalos for Free
• Collapsible wagons and strollers are allowed
• Beer is served only to patrons displaying alcohol wristbands, obtained at the event entry point.
• No weapons are permitted, including pocket knives, knives of any type, Leatherman tools, and similar items.
• By Federal Law, cannabis or recreational drugs are NOT permitted on Fort Sill.
• No drones, drugs of any type.
• No laser pointers, glass objects, fireworks, or Frisbees.
• No pets except service animals.
• Unruly behavior will not be tolerated.
• Military Police will staff the event to maintain safety and security.
• MAPA, GoLawton, Regroup, or text “Join Lawton Events” to 31002 to receive notifications about upcoming events.
